1291 Group is proud to sponsor Moritz as he continues to move up the junior tennis ranks. Before the start of the new 2025 season, we wanted to celebrate his amazing achievements during 2024.
At just 14 years old, Moritz set himself an ambitious goal at the start of 2024: to collect his first ITF points and achieve an ITF Under 18 (U18) ranking, which makes it easier to participate in other international ITF U18 tournaments. By the end of January 2024, he already managed to secure his first points in Wolfsberg, Austria, with five consecutive wins. What a great performance!
More international ITF U18 tournaments followed in Switzerland and further afield. In May, he won his first ITF Juniors U18 title with an amazing performance at the tournament in Vierumäki, Finland. Moritz followed this up with his first ITF Juniors doubles title in Hasselt, Belgium in July.
To help Moritz prepare for the next level, Philipp Oswald from Austria became his coach in August. Philipp is a former professional player who recently announced his retirement from professional sports and brings a multitude of experience and expertise.
Finally, Moritz won “Newcomer of the Year” at the LLB Sports Awards in his native Liechtenstein. What an amazing achievement!
All the hours of training and dedication continue to pay off. Moritz, who turned 15 during the year, already has a U18 worldwide ranking of 1055. We’ll keep you posted on his progress during the year ahead.
